Family Camp 2018 Pt1
Our Scout Group serves the villages of Claydon, Barham and Great and Little Blakenham in Suffolk. We'd love to hear from you if you'd like to volunteer to help or to register your son or daughter to the group. Our Group has three thriving sections: Beavers (aged 6-8), Cubs (aged 8-10 1/2) and Scouts (aged 10 1/2 to 14).

Scouting At Home!
Despite the lockdown 1st Claydon Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are doing Scouting from home and also taking part in regular video conference meetings. Here are some photos of what they've been up to. If you are interested and want to join please email to the address at the top of this page!
Bonfire Family Evening November 2019
We had a record turnout of young people, mums, dads and relatives. Thank you to everyone who helped organised and to everyone who came and made it a great evening.
Walk, BBQ and AGM At Rendlesham Forest June 2019
1st Claydon's AGM was part of a family day out at Rendlesham Forest. The day included a sponsored family walk and BBQ. The AGM Report can be found here.
Tobogganing July 2019
The last day of summer term, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers all toboganned at Suffolk Ski Slope.
Bag packing December 2019
Another successful year bag packing. A big thank you to Waitrose and their customers who helped us raise £400.
Helping The Homeless
Our Scout Troop started a project in October last year about thier role in the community. The troop choose to set up a fund raising event, bike ride, in aid of homeless people. On the 1st March the troop presented Ann, one of the volunteers a large selection of sleeping bags, sleeping mats, hats, gloves and towels. The Troop raised £226 and with the kind generosity of Go Outdoors Ipswich was able to provide a much wider selection of items.
Curry Night 18th September 2019
Our ever popular curry night fund raiser was held in March with a record number of parents and young people. The curry night was was as ever held at the Curry Inn Needham Market. On the night we raised over £120 and a good time was had by all. Our curry nights have now raised over £750 in just three years. Many thanks to all those who have supported them.
Scout Sponsored Bike Ride
As part of 1st Claydon Scouts Fund Raising Badge the Troop came up with a project to help in their community. They decided to do a sponsored bike ride to buy clothes and other items for homeless people in Ipswich. As a result the Troopraised over £200. More news about the initiative will follow.
